Robot 2.0 is an upcoming Indian bilingual science fiction film shot in Tamil and Hindi languages, and has been directed by S Shankar. In a sequel to his Tamil film Anthyran (2010), the film will feature prominent roles of Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson. The film has been produced by Aliazahah, the publication of Lyka Productions, which is expected to be the biggest budget in history, in Indian cinema. The film is $ 3.5 billion (US $ 52 million). According to 2.0, the film started its first program with a shooting scheduled for December 16, 2015. The film is about to be released in cinemas in 2017. Akshay Kumar started filming in Chennai in early March 2016 and participated in an event organized in EVP Film City Studios in Chennai. A set of a mobile phone store was built on location, while the night-watching robot equipment and military tanks were included. Later, the team went to Delhi for a forty-days program from the same scene with the military tanks shot in Chennai.
